Asia Source II In January 2007, an event called Asia Source II was taken place in Sukabumi in western Java with over than 130 participants from 27 countries. Asia Source II was a nine days camp style FOSS event to promote the use of Free and Open Source Software instead of using proprietary software. This is event was organised by UNDP APDIP, IOSN, Tactical Technologies and many others. We have the honour of participating in this event. See link in main page. Wifi contract from PLN In June 2006, a contract worth 17000 USD for facilitating indoor wifi with six additional Access Points and 60 clients was drawn with PLN Distribution East Java main office. This was further to previous contract of latest two APs supplied a year before. The project was completed in two months along with supplying, testing and training. We maintained a very good relation with this company, partly owned by the government, as being our customer for so long. Major recapitalization In August 2005, a major recapitalization of over than 50000 USD has taken place to move the current office to a new location just nearby about 100 meters in distance. The new place is better in economic value than the recent office. The movement took about four months to complete. All works still the same only the telecentre was closed. Datacom held Internship [December 27, 2003] An internship has taken place in our office from a third year student of Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Department of Informatics. The student have learnt about programming, networking, interview- and meeting techniques and stayed for five months from November 2003 to March 2004. Datacom website finally launched [October 2, 2001] Datacom Informatika website is finally launched and can be reviewed at www.datacom.co.id
This is really an indonesian acquired domain name that we have to submit our business license prior to launch. The website reflects our interest in telecentre issue. The site will offer internet and other news about current Indonesian situation updated from time to time. Facilities will include subscription to datacom newsletter and a chat room. Some links of interest is also put in the website. If you like this website, please send email to info@datacom.co.id [August 9, 2001] A new portal in Indonesian is launched to link the opportunities created by internet café owners. The portal will offer mailing lists for ICT news in Indonesian language and informative tutorial about ASP, Linux, PHP, WirelessLAN etc. Information about Telecom regulation, IT products are also put as articles in the website. The website serves as directory for internet cafes in Indonesia. Internet café owners are encouraged to fill in their data online.
The wartel part of the telecentre will accept house-hold electric bills payment for the local community daily from 8.00 to 21.00. |
